Simplicity is not always the answer
Every project has these beliefs behind them
The complexity paradox
While simplicity is often praised in design, it's not always the right solution. Sometimes complexity serves a purpose, and removing it can make experiences less effective or meaningful.
The key is understanding when complexity adds value and when it creates unnecessary friction. Good design finds the right balance between simplicity and functionality.
When complexity works
Complex interfaces can be appropriate when they serve expert users who need powerful tools, when they provide rich customization options, or when they help users understand intricate relationships between data.
The goal isn't to eliminate complexity entirely, but to organize it thoughtfully and reveal it progressively as users need more advanced capabilities.
